Write Up North is a weekly north side writing group whose goal is to create community and accountability among freelance writers, bloggers, academics and scholars, grant writers, and critics in Chicago.
It’s pretty simple: spend a couple hours on Fridays, 10am-1pm, drinking coffee, plugging away at the thing that you do, surrounded by others doing the same thing.
Inspired by the weekly writing group that changed her life in grad school, Lauren Warnecke will host meet-ups on a first-come, first-served basis until her dining room table in Edgewater is full.
How can I sign-up? Email email@example.com and she’ll send you the deets. Because Write Up North takes place at a private residence, complete strangers are currently not invited. Note: feline friends live here too.
What is provided? Coffee, quiet, power outlets and a relatively reliable Internet connection.
What should I bring? Your ideas, your laptop, and a power cord. Coffee beans and pastry donations are welcome, too.
The next cycle will begin November 4, 2016. Holidays and other select Fridays may be skipped from time to time. Members will be notified of skipped weeks well in advance, or may opt to meet elsewhere to keep the good juju flowing.
