Ashley Deran is the co-director of Project Bound Dance and the owner of A.Deran Photography. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in dance from Western Michigan University where she graduated with honors. Upon returning to Chicago she’s had the opportunity to continue teaching, choreographing and performing across the Midwest. Ashley is currently working with the Chicago Dance History Project and is excited to be launching a new dance for camera endeavor this summer, Project Bound’s One Hour Project. Through SummerSpace she hopes to continue to emphasize the importance of creating artistic dialogue and inspiring new perspectives on dance in Chicago.
Lauren Warnecke is a freelance dance critic based in Chicago, and a regular contributor to SeeChicagoDance.com, Windy City Times, and Chicago Magazine. Lauren is the sole content creator of this site, and has written for nationally reputed dance blogs such as Dance Advantage and 4Dancers. Lauren has worked in the dance community as a dancer and choreographer, sound designer, production stage manager, and curator. An experienced educator and administrator, Lauren holds degrees in dance (BA) and kinesiology (MS), and is a Certified Personal Trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine.
Established in 1946, and still growing, the not-for-profit Menomonee Club for Boys and Girls has been improving urban life on Chicago’s north side for more than 65 years. The Club is dedicated to providing children from diverse backgrounds with quality recreation and enrichment activities that foster personal growth and skill development.
